Wayne County Schools

Using data received from WVEIS, WARN broadcasted hundreds of calls to the parents of nine schools. Over one thousand five hundred calls were made which left a message that the call was a test of a new notification system. The broadcast was setup to leave messages on answering machines and to make three attemps if the line was busy or there was not an answer. The Wayne county officials were plesantly suprised with the ability of the system to call so many parents within minutes. They plan on implementing the system for the entire county once they update the students telephone numbers in WVEIS (the Statewide Student Data Repository).
